I went to Liverpool the weekend during my study in London. To be frank, the only thing I know about Liverpool is their football club, Liverpool FC. Luckily, one of my friends live there and he is kind enough to take me around. (Thanks a lot,Joel) So I have explore the city and found it really wonderful. Moreover, Liverpool will be
European Capital of Culture
in 2008. That's enough to prove that there's a lot to see in Liverpool.
I've been to Liverpool Cathedral which is an enormous cathedral. I was impressed with it's interior and design. Then I went to another cathedral called Metropolitian Cathedral. It's entirely different from the first one. I've never seen the cathedral like this before(even in London). Look how they different in the photos below. I then went to the city and visit the pub where The Beatles uded to perform. Later I visit the museum of Liverpool life.Even I'm not into museum, but this one gain a lot of my attention. Maybe because it show the real life and that's what really the city is. I would say it's one of a few museum in UK that I like. It the evening, there was a football match between Liverpool and Chelsea. We couldn't get the ticket to the match so we went to a pub to watch football. Well, this is my first experience watching footall in a pub in LIVERPOOL. (and their team was playing! cool). It's really a GREAT experience. Everyone in the pub was focus at one screen. And all have the feeling that they're in the match! And obviously, I'm in Liverpool so all the people in the pub go for Liverpool. Except one person, I don't know who he is, but he go for Chelsea!. Imgine when Chelsea made a goal, he shouted with joy and what do you think the rest of the audience feel! Anyway, he's lucky enough to survive because Liverpool won that match. (which is great cos it keep people in that town happy! haha) The score was 2-1
The next day we went to Anfield, I was told before that the tour at the stadium was fully booked so I planed to visit the museum only. Luckily, those who booked the tour wasn't showed up so we could join the tour. I'm now have the good impression about this team. Later we went to The Beatles Story which tell all the story of the Beatles from the begining. I then rushed to catch the bus back to London( that's too bad, I have school in the next morning, I wish I could be there longer)
Last of all, I would say, Yes, Joel. Liverpool is the best football club in the world. :)
